Futbolito Bimbo Stars, through its variety of different activities,

also promotes important values of our society, such as respect, comradeship, discipline and teamwork

Today Bimbo announced the commencement of the 2007 edition of the ‘Futbolito’ Bimbo Stars Tournament, with the participation of more than 46,000 youngsters, girls and boys, the purposes of which are to contribute to the overall education of childhood, the promotion of physical activity and a correct and adequate diet.

This competition takes place within the framework of the series of activities carried out by Grupo Bimbo through its “Committed With Your Health” program, which, among other things, intends to promote among society healthy life styles and to educate in matters of Health and Nutrition from its own area of experience.

This year, ‘Futbolito Bimbo Stars’, the most important tournament in the history of Mexican children’s football, shall have the participation of boys and girls from the 4th, 5th and 6th grades of public and private grade schools from 40 cities in the country in the boy’s league and from 8 cities in the girls league. Participants shall have the opportunity of living a truly enriching experience, where they can compete in a good and healthy atmosphere, show their sports’ abilities and proudly represent their schools and cities.

“Bimbo has always tried to contribute to the development of Mexican youth and among other ways, has succeeded by means of the organization of this type of events, in which the importance is emphasized in regard to carrying out physical activity, combined with schoolwork studies and an adequate diet”, commented Raul Vargas, Bimbo’s Marketing Manager.

He pointed out that “Futbolito Bimbo Stars, through its variety of different activities, also promotes important values of our society, such as respect, comradeship, discipline and teamwork, among others; thus achieving that the youngsters strengthen their character and have available the tools necessary in order to become the men and women of Mexico’s future”.

In addition to the sports activities contemplated for this tournament, this year Bimbo incorporates a program of Education in Nutrition targeted at the schools, the children and the children’s parents.
