received a $10,000 USD price from Daniel Servitje, Grupo Bimbo CEO
Last February 16th, we held the Awards Ceremony for the First Bimbo Pan-American Nutrition and Food Science and Technology Price in Mexico City at the Franz Meir Museum.
This initiative resulted of Grupo Bimbo’s commitment to our population’s nutrition and health. Through such activities, we attempt to foster improved knowledge regarding human nutrition and food technology, as well as to contribute to the improvement of processed foods quality and nutrition in the community.
The summons was launches in four regions of America: Mexico, U.S.A., Central America and South America. It was in force from May 11th 2004, to November 30th, 2004. A total of 130 professional papers from various public and/or private institutions, universities, as well as centers and laboratories working in the areas of human nutrition and food science/technology were received during that period.

Zone 1 – United States of America: Dr. David Baer from the Beltsville Human Nutrition Research Center with the research paper: “Dietary fatty acids affect plasma markers of inflammation in healthy men fed controlled diets: a randomized crossover study”
